Anne Gray
Anne Gray is Head of Australian Art and Senior Curator of Australian Painting and Sculpture before 1920 at the National Gallery of Australia. She has worked in the art museum profession for more than thirty years. She was previously Director of the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery at the University of Western Australia, Head of Art at the Australian War Memorial, and Educator at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. She has curated approximately thirty-five exhibitions, including major exhibitions for the National Gallery of Australia, and has written widely on Australian and British art and artists. She has a PhD from the University of Melbourne and a Master’s degree from the University of Western Australia.
Art, Love and Life accompanies the exhibition of the same name at the Queensland Art Gallery. This substantial book contains eight short essays by six authors, with a brief checklist of the works included in the exhibition towards the end of the publication. There is also a useful chronology.
